One reproduces an image and the other builds the pattern
Decorated porcelain receives a graphic defined by the manufacturer. In cement tile, every color occupies a section of the mold and several pieces form the complete figure. Up close you see the craft; from a distance you read the pattern.
Your project does not have to accept a factory palette
We can start with an existing pattern and adjust its colors to work with walls, wood, stone or furniture. Borders and corners can be coordinated as well. That freedom matters when the floor should feel integrated rather than added at the end.
The difference becomes clearer over time
Porcelain keeps a highly regular appearance. Handmade cement tile develops its own patina and can receive maintenance or restoration. It needs the right care, but it never pretends to be a perfectly identical copy of itself.
